Installation & Important Information

Please note: Installation of this repair kit is a relatively involved procedure and requires removal of the complete fuel filler neck assembly from the vehicle. We recommend that installation is undertaken by an experienced technician or specialist familiar with the Ford GT.

Once the filler neck assembly has been removed, the original plastic upper section must be carefully separated from the metal filler neck. This section is secured using metal retaining tabs and can be difficult to remove.

The internal mechanism must then be disassembled, allowing the original plastic flap and bracket to be replaced with the new aluminium components.

The original rubber seal, spring and pivot pin must be retained and reused. These components are not included in the repair kit. If any of these original parts are missing, damaged or unserviceable, this kit alone will not provide a complete repair.

Once the replacement aluminium components have been installed and the original hardware refitted, the upper mechanism can be reassembled and secured back onto the metal filler neck assembly.
